Tom says: “He agreed to make a speech in parliament presenting the petition when it resumes in August and have it entered into parliamentary records.”
Please continue to pray for volunteers as they collect signatures across the country and present their petitions to their MPs over August and September
The Climate Action Petition is the biggest faith-based, multi-electorate pen and paper petition in our history, calling for stronger action on climate change. Petitions are being presented simultaneously in almost 100 federal electorates across Australia.
In Western Australia, a group of church leaders and TEAR Australia's WA Coordinator Steve McKinnon presented the petition to Perth MP Tim Hammond.
In the electorate of Deakin in Melbourne, Christians from local Uniting Churches and other community representatives, including TEAR
National Director Matthew Maury, presented the petition to Member for Deakin, Michael Sukkar.

The Climate Action Petition is being supported by a coalition of faith-based organisations including Renew Our World/ TEAR Australia, Australian Religious Response to Climate Change, Caritas Australia, Catholic Earthcare, Common Grace, Edmund Rice Centre, Pacific Calling Partnership and the Uniting Church in Australia.
It’s been amazing to be part of this as we all join together to speak up to our politicians on this crucial issue of climate change and its effect on our brothers and sisters around the world.
