Renew Our World is excited to announce the launch of the Nigerian national campaign!
Renew Our World's partner organisation in Nigeria is Tearfund Nigeria. In the past 17 years, they have launched many successful advocacy campaigns. These campaigns have tackled the root causes of poverty and injustice in Nigeria.
The national campaign has launched in partnership with the Student Christian Movement (SCM). It is exciting to see the hunger for change coming from young people not willing to accept the status quo. Young people moved by compassion to partner with God to Renew Our World.
The advocacy ask of the launch was a petition targeted at the World Bank. In particular, the World Bank is being asked to invest more in renewable energy for Nigeria.
And what a start to the petition and the campaign!
The team managed to secure the signature of the Nigerian Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo. This is the first time such a high-level advocacy target has engaged in a campaign by our partners in Nigeria.
Please pray for the team in Nigeria as they follow up with the office of the Presidency. Also pray as they engage the World Bank with the petition.
